Restaurant Design Tips: Before you Start Building

There are so many things to consider and do when it comes to opening your first restaurant. We know it can be overwhelming. Things like choosing the right location, selecting the name, and financing are just some of the hurdles that you have to go through. Not to mention, the equipment that you need to buy as well as building your restaurant.

So what should I do?

Let’s just say as an entrepreneur, you did your due diligence and are ready to start building your first restaurant. However, before you start talking to a designer/contractor, there are some things that you need to do. What are those things that you may ask? Below is the list of basic things that you need to do:

1. Decide on The Concept (your menu)
As a general rule of thumb don’t include a random selection of food that you think people will like that don’t go well together and expect things to just workout unless it’s something you really thought it through and it’s unique.

2. Talk to Your Head Chef/Cook
So that you can dive deep into the details when it comes to your kitchen setup and the types of equipment that you will need.

3. Choose Your Equipment Kitchen Supplier

You then have to figure out which companies will supply your kitchen equipment. We highly recommend that you decide on one company that will supply most if not all of your kitchen equipment.

Highly Recommend:  Hire a restaurant consultant to make sure that you are getting the right equipment with a fair quote.
